Planting Instructions:
Start indoors 4-6 weeks before final frost. After the danger of frost has passed, transplant in a sunny location next to a trellis or structure the vines can readily climb. Beautiful dark purple flowers with a bright pink centre grow on vines that can reach more than 12 feet.

The dark purple flowers with bright pink belly buttons make Grampa Ott’s one of my favourite plants each year. The bell shape of the flower attracts so many pollinators including bees and hummingbirds!

Make sure you plant these morning glories near a sturdy trellis. I cheaped out one year and used wire fencing instead of cattle panel and the whole structure collapsed! The vines grow really strong!

This open pollinated Bavarian heirloom plant is the name sake of Iowan farmer John Ott who cultivated the variety in the 1970s as a gift for his granddaughter.
